Question: Why is my Us Savings Bond Worth less than it was when it was purchased?
I know our economy is bad but shouldn’t it at least be worth what was paid for it? I actually thought it would be worth more. What gives? Why buy a savings bond?
Answer: You probably bought it at a discount and it hasn’t matured yet. At maturity it will be worth face value
