Question: using Savings Bonds for education?
I have Savings Bonds that I would like to use to help pay for my 2 grandchildren`s college costs. Bonds are in my name. Will I have to pay taxes on the interest?
Answer: You pay the taxes on them when you cash them.As long as they are not cashed and drawing interest you pay no taxes….

Question: Killer High School Graduation gift under 50 bucks? Tips? Ideas?
Calling all 17-18 year olds…I’d like to get my cousin a present for his graduation that’s not the “typical adult graduation gift”. He’s probably going to get them all: a book on how to cook ramen noodles 5000 ways, Savings Bonds (which is fantastic, but I know he won’t appreciate right now), etc. He is an outdoorsman that also loves gaming (but I don’t really want to encourage that too much, sorry). I’d like to get him something cool…any ideas? A subscription to Maxim? Flat out cash? A gift certificate to Cabellas or music downloads? Help?
Answer: I ordered by niece’s friends and 2G usb drive from pexagontech.com. I had it customized with their name and their favorite color. I also decked it out with Paisley’s. My niece said it was an awesome gift and her friend’s will love it.
You can get these in guy colors and with guy looking tattoo art. I like the silver with diamond plate art for guys. I think you can get them in multi packs too.

Question: US Savings Bonds OR COLLEGE 529 PLAN…WHATS BETTER FOR ME?
I’M ONLY GOING TO INVEST $50 MONTH FOR 16 YEARS. WHAT IS BETTER FOR ME? THANKS
Answer: right now a 529 might be better for you since college is a long way away for you. You will probably get a better return in the stock market since interest rates are so low now
