Us Savings Bonds Forms

Question: Stimulus Rebate Form 1040A?
My income source is Soc Sec,VA disability pension,Bank interest and 3 US Savings Bonds E that I cashed in 2007.
SS on line 14A-VA pension on line 12A. What lines are for Bank Interest-line 7? Bonds -do I use Schedule 1? Do I total all for income? Do I put Stimulus Rebate on top of form 1040A?
Where do I send it in Cleveland Ohio? I am filing for me and my wife. Both retired. Both over 75. I truly appreciate any help you can offer me.
Thank you.
Answer: IF you are not otherwise required to file a return, but are doing so to get the stimulus payments, you file 1040A and do WRITE STIMULUS across the top. The other posters have answered most of your other queries.

Question: US Savings Bonds OR COLLEGE 529 PLAN…WHATS BETTER FOR ME?
I’M ONLY GOING TO INVEST $50 MONTH FOR 16 YEARS. WHAT IS BETTER FOR ME? THANKS
Answer: right now a 529 might be better for you since college is a long way away for you. You will probably get a better return in the stock market since interest rates are so low now

Us Savings Bond Amounts

Question: Marriage and bills, I’m getting married in 3 months so am trying to figure how the money will be managed….?
So my fiancee and I make the same amount… and I believe he should pay the rent and I’d help him pay the bill (not pay all the bills, but help), and I plan to save most of my paycheck and purchase a house for both of us in the next 5 years, I’ve told him since when he proposed that I do not want to pay rent for the next 10yrs of my life and he agreed until now. So, now he comes and says that houses are not a investment that gets immediate returns and so he doesn’t want it to be this way, he wants a 50-50 split bill type of marriage, he says he plans to spend his savings in investments, like bonds etc… anyways I told him the house is a priority, and the conclusion is we’re not in the same view…. i told him that that was how i wanted, he pays the rent and thee bills, and I would help him with the bills and save the rest for a house or whatever, (it would be a joint account, its not like the money is all in my p[ersonal and private account) ….. do you think i have a point?
Answer: Yes, I see your point but I see his too. I think you should split the bills 50/50. Let him invest his savings for your future together and you can save for the house for the both of you.
