Question: What should I do with this “savings bond”?

I have a GIFT CERTIFICATE that says that a $Blank united states savings bond has been purchased for ME by BLANK and it will be forwarded to me from the federal reserve bank …. now this was a while ago so what do i do from here…. nayone have ahunch??

Answer: who is blank is that a person ?
do you have a bank account go the bank at and they would help you

Question: Can you get in trouble for having Savings Bonds while collecting welfare?

I’ve been out of work for a very long time and denied unemployment. It is taking forever and its is very hard to find honest work around here right now. So I applied for welfare. Its not alot and I’m doing their work training stuff and whatever else is necessary.
I’m 2 months behind all my bills and today my dad handed my Savings Bonds. They were purchased when I was a kid, they are in my name…But I NEVER knew anything about them until today. My dad said he forgot about them.
Since I said on the welfare application that I didn’t have any investments, can I get in trouble now? I assume I would have to pay back what was given to me, but is there any legal trouble???

Answer: Since you’re coming forward with the information, I’m sure they will not consider it fraud. You may or may not have to pay back what you’ve gotten.
