Us Savings Bonds Address

Question: Is it fair for in-laws to give $2500 shower and crib to SIL and just give us 2 picture frames for our baby?
My MIL threw my SIL a $2500 shower at a wedding reception hall with catered food and 100 guests and also gave a $500 crib. She gave me just two picture frames (no shower) when I had my awesome daughter. When my daughter turned 1, she gave her $40 and then left for 3 hours to give SIL savings bond, two outfits and a drum toy for her unborn child. My hubby (her son) does not work and stays home to take care of our wonderful daugher while I work. I have never complained to MIL, but it irks me when SIL asks what I got from MIL and her response is always “is that it? I’m sure she’ll give me more.” How do I address this? MIL can give as she pleases, but I dread these comments from SIL because some day, my daughter will hear them too.
Thanks!
This is not MIL’s daughter, but DIL.
This is not MIL’s daughter, but DIL. We’re both DILs.
Answer: It’s not fair, but life isn’t fair either. It’s always better to get things on your own, then to rely on others to buy you things. It builds character.

Savings Bonds Questions

Question: Savings Bonds questions?
i have some questions. can i cash a savings bond woth my school id or must i have my state id and what other documents can i use. also must i cash it at a bank or is there any other way. so help
Answer: It depends on what kind of bond.
Most government bonds cannot be cashed within 5 years of issuance unless a penalty is paid.
You can cash such bonds at any large bank with proper ID, and if the bond is in your name.
Remember that you must declare the interest earned on your federal income tax for the year you cash the bonds.
